NC-Congress alliance: ‘Friendly contest in Anantnag, Baramulla; Cong to contest in Jammu, Udhampur’

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday while announcing the pre-poll alliance with the Indian National Congress said that Jammu and Udhampur parliamentary seats will be contested by Congress.

“I will contest from Srinagar and there will be a friendly contest between NC and Congress in Anantnag and Baramulla,” he said, “We are also discussing the Ladakh seat.”

Meanwhile elaborating “friendly contest” senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that “Friendly contest means that there will be no cut-throat contest between Congress and National Conference on Anantnag and Baramulla constituency seats”.

“If either Congress or NC wins, it’s a win-win situation for both of us.”
