Key conspirator of Pulwama attack killed in Tral gunfight: J&K Police

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday identified one of the militants slain in Tral gunfight as Mudasir Ahmad Khan, son of Farooq Ahmad Khan, a resident of Midoora village of Tral township.

A police spokesperson said that incriminating material was also recovered from the encounter site and it is suspected that the other slain militant was a Pakistani national codenamed Khalid. “Search in the area is still underway,” he said.

He said that both the slain militants were affiliated with proscribed outfit JeM and were wanted by law for their complicity in a series of cases including attacks on security establishments.

The spokesperson said that both the militants were involved in planning and executing several attacks in the area particularly Mudasir who was involved in FIR No 150/2017 pertaining to attack on CRPF camp in Lethpora on December 30, 2017 and FIR No 08/2018 under section 18,19,20 ULAP Act. “Pertinently the investigation so far conducted revealed that Mudasir was one of the key conspirators of the recent Pulwama Highway convoy attack.”
