Militants slain in Tral gunfight identified, were affiliated with Hizb: J&K Police

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday identified the two militants slain in Tral gunfight as Adfar Fayaz Parray son of Fayaz Ahmad Parray, a resident of Gulshanpora Tral and Irfan Ahmad Rather, son of Ghulam Hassan Rather, a resident of Shariefabad Tral.

Police in a statement said that according to the police records, the slain militants were affiliated with proscribed militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. “They were involved in conspiring and executing several attacks and were wanted by the law for their complicity in a series of crimes including attack on security establishments and civilian atrocities. Several crime cases were registered against them for their activities.” 

A police spokesperson said that arms and ammunition including rifles were recovered from the site of encounter. All these materials have been taken in the case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other cases.
