Jammu: Tensions escalated along the Line of Control in Nowshera Kalal and Balakote in Mendhar area as reports said that 105 mm artillery shells have been fired amid intense cross-LoC firing.
Sources said that intense shelling in Nowshera Kalal on Thursday evening and night long heavy shelling in Balakote of Poonch’s Mendhar has spread panic in the entire border belt.
In Balakote, sources said, shelling from across continued entire night and it was a war like situation with hundreds of shells landing in civilian areas.
Sources said that an unexploded shell recovered from a rooftop in Kalal village of Nowshera has turned out to be a 105 mm shell which is an artillery shell and is fired from artillery gun. (KNO)
