Cross-LoC shelling rattles north Kashmir’s Uri and Kamalkote, civilian injured

Srinagar: A civilian was injured as cross LoC shelling rattled norther Kashmir’s Uri and Kamalkote areas of Baramulla district Friday morning.

Reports said that the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy gunfire in Gawahalan, Chokas, Kiker and Kathi posts in Uri and Kamalkote areas since 3am with mortars and small arms.

A police officials said that one civilian Muhammad Reyaz Khan, son of Nazir Khan of Madiyan Kamalkote was injured in the shelling and was taken to sub district hospital Uri for treatment.

The cross-border shelling continued intermittently in both the sectors while this report was being filed.
