Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Wednesday expressed grief over the demise of Mufti Bashir-ud-din, elder brother of Mufti Mehraj-ud-din, Advocate, the Grand Mufti of Kashmir, who expired on Tuesday at SKIMS Soura, Srinagar where he had been admitted for treatment.

In a statement, a spokesperson of Bar said that late Mufti Bashir ud Din, was a great Islamic Scholar and besides holding the prestigious position of being the Grand Mufti of Kashmir for several decades. He was also the founder of “Supreme Court of Islamic Shariat (Central Dar ul Futwa), Srinagar”.

Condoling the demise, the Bar Association prayed to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in peace and give courage and fortitude to his family members including Mufti Mehraj-ud-din, Advocate, to bear the irreparable loss.
