Srinagar: Reacting to the stand off between the Mamta Banerjee and Central Bureau of Investigation, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that the central government is using institutions like CBI to settle personal political scores.
“It is unfortunate that the institutions like CBI are used to settle personal political scores. Earlier, we saw what happened in case of Akhilesh and Mayawati ji too. We in J&K have an experience of NIA etc. In current crisis, me and our party are with Mamta ji. If these things continue, it will have impact on the fine balance of center-state relationship in our federal structure,” she said.
Mehbooba also tweeted: “In solidarity with @MamataOfficial History stands testament to how JK has faced the wrath of central agencies. Its disheartening to see how institutions are being hijacked only to discredit political opponents . Doesn’t bode well for the Centre – State relationship .”
