Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the last leg of day-long visit to Jammu and Kashmir, arrived here this afternoon, to inaugurate and lay foundation stone of several development projects, including AIIMS.
Mr Modi visited the interior parts of Dal Lake in a motorboat, despite chilly weather conditions.
Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in the water body since Friday, to prevent any untoward incident during the PM’s visit. Security forces and state police personnel could be seen patrolling in Shikaras and waterboats.
Hundreds of security forces remained deployed in and outside the S K International Conference Centre (SKICC), where Mr Modi will inaugurate the projects, besides meeting sarpanchs and panches, besides students from different states.
Mr Modi arrived here this afternoon from Jammu, where he inaugurated several development projects. Earlier, he arrived at Leh in the morning, from New Delhi.
