Pak violates ceasefire on LoC, Indian Army retaliates

Jammu: India and Pakistani Army exchanged fire  along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pakistani Army this afternoon at around 1315 hours fired small arms and resorted to heavy mortar shelling in Naushera sector of Rajouri,” defence spokesman here said.

“Pakistani Army this afternoon initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by small arms fire and shelling with mortars,” said the spokesman.

He said that Indian Army is retaliating strongly and effectively.

There was no exchange of sweets between Indian and Pakistani Armies on the LoC on Satursay on Republic Day, he added.

Pakistan continues its nefarious activities along the LoC also on January 25 and 24 as they initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by small arms fire and also shelling with mortars in Mendhar Sector of Poonch.

Earlier on January 20, Pakistani Rangers violated the ceasefire along international border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua while BSF troops responded by limited fire.

On January 18 also Pakistan fired small arms and violated the ceasefire on international border and on January 15, a BSF attained martyrdom in sniper fire from across the border along international border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.

Pakistani Army has also opened the front along the Line of Control and firing unprovoked for the past two weeks in Poonch and Rajouri sectors.

Northern Command Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh had recently said that five Pakistani soldiers were killed and some injured some by the Indian Army in retaliation along the Line of Control over the last few days.
