Two dead, three others injured in separate road accidents in Samba, Ramban districts

Srinagar: Two persons were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Samba and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said Wednesday.

A-three vehicle crash killed the driver of an oil tanker and injured three others near Railway bridge Nanak Chack in Samba Tuesday night, they said.

The identity of the deceased driver is being ascertained, a police official said.

In another incident, 35-year-old Abdul Waheed Sohil was killed after being reportedly hit by an unidentified vehicle near his house in the Banihal area along Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district, police said.

His body was found on the banks of Bishleri stream late Tuesday night, they said, adding that preliminary investigations reveal that he was hit by an unidentified vehicle while on his way home from a nearby hamlet.

Police have registered two separate cases, the official said.
