Srinagar: An abandoned newborn baby girl was found dead in uptown Srinagar on Monday near maternity hospital Lal Ded.

Reports quoting police said that the newborn girl was found dead when police reached the spot.

The baby girl was found in a small carton near the Town square crossing in Rajbagh.

“An FIR No. 9/2019 has been registered and we will fulfil other legal formalities,” police said.
