War or words between Omar, Mehbooba a confession that militants enjoy popular support: Rasheed

Srinagar: Reacting to the Twiter spat between former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, Awami Ittehad President Er Rasheed on Friday said it was a “moral victory” for the militants.

In a statement, Rasheed said that the truth and the circumstances are pushing two former Chief Ministers to show sympathy with those whom they killed “mercilessly.”

“Be it Mehbooba Mufti visiting slain militant’s family or Omer Abdullah accusing her of being architect of ‘Operation All Out’, every word and action is ample proof to conclude that militants are enjoying huge popular support and the propaganda to label them as terrorists has no takers in Kashmir,” said Rasheed.

He said both Mehbooba and Omar were trying to regain their “lost ground” by praising militants and talking about atrocities on their families.

“No doubt it is for the masses to decide whether to believe the cunning and hypocritical words of Omar and Mehbooba but the fact is that their exchange of arguments and the debate so generated has itself proved that both the former Chief Ministers don’t have their any narrative, ideology or a vision but are just trying to regain their lost ground by praising militants and talking about atrocities on their families, without feeling any shame for the reason both of them have been ruthless in carrying genocide of Kashmiris,” he said.

Omar Abdullah, in a tweet, had criticised Mehbooba after she visited the family of a slain militant in Shopian by calling her an architect of ‘Operation All-Out’.
