Authorities suspend train services on Srinagar-Banihal track as gunfights rage in south Kashmir

Srinagar: Authorities on Tuesday suspended the train services on Srinagar-Banihal track for security reasons.

A spokesperson of the railways told Kashmir Reader that they received a communication from the police to suspend the train fearing law and order situation in the area.

He, however, said that the train will chug normally on the Srinagar-Baramulla track.

Pertinently, gunfights between government forces and militants rage at two places in south Kashmir including at Redwani in Kulgam district and Tral in Pulwama district.
