Srinagar: Two militants have been killed in a gunfight with government forces Tuesday morning in Nadigam village of Shopian in southern Kashmir.

Earlier, reports said, a Para commando was killed in the fierce gun battle with militants while three others were injured.

The slain militants are yet to be identified.

Reports said the gunfight erupted after government forces launched a search operation in the village following inputs about the presence of militants in the village.

As the forces zeroed in at the spot where militants were suspected to be hiding, the militants fired at the forces triggering a gunfight, reports added.
