Police arrest two Hizb militants during naka checking in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested two local Hizb Ul Mujahideen militants at Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police officer said that a joint naka was established at Panzgam railway underpass by 55 RR, Awantipora Police and 185 CRPF late Tuesday evening.

“At around 9.30 pm two persons were spotted going towards Panzgam who were asked to stop but they ran towards village Dugripora. The duo was chased and apprehended.”

The officer said that upon their search one UBGL thrower, two hand grenades and some ammunition of AK series was recovered.

The militants have been identified as Jan Mohammad Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz resident of Kaweni Dugripora and Nasir ul Islam son of Shabir Ahmed Shah, a resident of Panzgam.
