Srinagar: The power development department (PDD) officials have said that power supply will be restored 100 percent by Sunday evening .

The officials said said fifty percent restoration will be done before 2 pm. while the rest will be completed by the late evening.

“The transmission lines to grids need to be up. Once that’s done, it will be a matter of minutes. Unlike the powdery snow, yesterday’s snow had more water content making it difficult for trees with heavy foliage to bear its weight,” officials said while citing reasons as to why there was power breakdown in the entire valley following the heavy snowfall.
