Sericulture employees’ stage protest against 15 employees suspension

Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Sericulture Employees and Workers Union Friday staged a protest against what they called ‘unauthorized’ suspension of over 15 employees of the department here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

A large number of employees from Sericulture Department assembled in Press Enclave Srinagar and staged slogans against the incumbent Director.

They alleged that Director Sericulture suspended 15 employees of the department despite the fact 14 of them had done biometric attendance. The Director issued the order claiming that these employees had no manual attendance.

The Director on Thursday ordered on the spot suspension of the officials and full enquiry into the issue. Till pending enquires, the suspended officials shall remain present in the Directorate of Sericulture Department, he said and added that the delinquent and non performing officials shall not be tolerated at any cost.

The Director said with a view to improve the work culture in the department and boost the sericulture activities a multipronged strategy has been framed under which all necessary measures shall be put to practice at all fronts by involving every stakeholder for a positive change.
