Srinagar: A JCB operator died Tuesday after a landslide hit a JCB he was operating to clear a landslide along the 300-kilomtre Srinagar-Jammu highway in Ramban district.

Identified as Jamsheed Ahmad, reports said, Ahmad was clearing the landslide at Digdol when a huge rocks rolled down. Ahmad jumped out of the JCB and sustained injuries.

He was taken to Ramsoo dispensary for treatment. However, at the hospital he succumbed to his injuries.

Ahmad, 27, is a native of Thalala village of Doda.
