Indonesian plane was flown by Delhi pilot

New Delhi: Captain Bhavye Suneja, an Indian national, was the pilot of the Lion Air flight that crashed into the sea on Monday morning.

Bhavye, 31 was a student of Ahlcon Public School in Delhi’s Mayur Vihar and completed school in the year 2005.
He was a resident of Mayur Vihar, Delhi.

As per Suneja’s LinkedIn account, he got his pilot training from Bel Air International and had earlier worked with Emirates and later joined the Indonesian carrier Lion Air. 

The Boeing 737 of the Indonesian carrier was carrying 189 people, who believed to have sunk when the plane crashed into the sea minutes after take off from Jakarta and lost contact with the ground controllers.

The plane falling into the sea was noticed by a boat, as per reports.

The ground controllers had lost communication with the flight around 13 minutes after it took off.

The 737 Max 8 plane is the latest versions of the jet and is said to be one of the bestselling jetliner. (UNI)
