Jamia Masjid in Srinagar remains closed for 2nd consecutive day

Srinagar: The historic Jamia Masjid remained closed for the second day on Saturday as a precautionary measure and a large number of Security Forces remained deployed to prevent people from entering the worship place.

No Friday prayers could be offered for the third consecutive week yesterday due to restrictions in the down town and closure of all gates of the masjid.

All gates of the historic Masjid remained locked and nobody was being allowed to enter.

Large number of forces remained deployed in the Jamia market and outside for the second day on Saturday.

There was no Azaan or prayers this morning, local residents said and alleged that they were not allowed to enter the Masjid. (UNI)
