Life returns to routine after 2 days in Kashmir’s capital city Srinagar

Srinagar: Life returned to normal on Wednesday in Srinagar, including Lal Chowk, the city centre of the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, where restrictions were imposed to foil “ Lal Chowk Challo” call by Joint Resistance Leadership against Kulgam civilian and militant killings.

Business and other activities resumed in Srinagar, including downtown, though initially majority shops remained closed this morning following an encounter in Nowgam area in outskirts during which two militants were killed by government forces.

All road blocks, including barbed wire, put up by security forces on all roads leading to historic Lal Chowk to prevent separatist march, have been removed. Shops and business establishments in the main business hub in the civil lines are open with the traffic plying normally.

Reports of normalcy were also received from the downtown Srinagar.
