Municipal polls: PC sweeps Handwara, Congress wins 20 wards of MC Anantnag

Srinagar: Congress party has won 20 wards of Anantnag municipal committee as counting ended.

Officials said that out of 25 wards, Congress won 20 wards.

240 votes were cast in 16 wards of the council while the rest wards remained uncontested.

Meanwhile Sajad Lone led Peoples Conference has swept the Handwara municipal committee elections winning all the 13 wards.

Officials said that all the PC candidates were declared on Saturday after the counting for the polls began at 8 am today.
