6-month pregnant lady killed in Pulwama as militants, army exchange gunfire

Srinagar: A pregnant lady late Friday evening was killed during the exchange of fire between government forces and suspected militants in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district. 

Reports said that suspected militants hurled a UBGL grenade on 44 RR camp at Shadimarg followed by firing. The fire was retaliated by the army, they said. 

During the exchange of fire a lady identified as Firdousa, daughter of Khurshid Ahmad was killed. Firdousa, a resident of Qasbayar Shadimarg was pregnant by six months.

Sources said that the lady was shifted to Rajpora hospital and was later referred to DH Pulwama where she succumbed. 

“The lady died in the cross-exchange of fire,” a police official said.
