Srinagar: Spontaneous shutdown was witnessed in Srinagar city on Wednesday after two militants, a civilian and a policeman was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Fateh Kadal area of Downtown in Srinagar.
Witnesses said that all the major markets of the city didn’t open this morning while public transport mostly remained off the roads.
The commercial hub of the Srinagar city Kara Nagar and the adjoining markets also didn’t open today. Reports of shutdown were also received from city outskirts.
Meanwhile, sources said that the deployment of forces has been heightened in Srinagar city. “Massive deployment of forces has been made at all the entry and exit points of the city.”
