Mannan’s killing: Life returns to routine in northern Kashmir’s Kupwara after 4 days

Srinagar: After a four day shutdown against the killing of scholar turned militant Mannan Wani, life returned to routine in Kupwara district of northern Kashmir on Monday.

Wani was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Handwara village on Thursday.

Witnesses said that shops and other business establishments worked routinely today and traffic also plied normally.

However, district administration has ordered shutdown of colleges and schools as a precautionary measure to prevent any protest by students.

Meanwhile, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) also suspended classes on Monday.
