Srinagar: The district magistrate Islamabad on Thursday slapped a draconian Public Safety Act on Tehreek-e-Hurriyat member Sartaj Ahmad Sheikh and shifted him to a Jammu jail.

Sources said that Sheikh was detained by Jammu and Kashmir police on September 18 and was detained in Islamabad sub-jail.

On Thursday, they said, Sheikh was slapped with a PSA. “Today morning Sartaj was driven to Kot Balwal jail Jammu,” they said. Sartaj is a resident of Islamabad.
