Srinagar: Authorities on Tuesday suspended traffic on the Srinagar-Leh highway after upper reaches of the Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district including the famous health resort of Sonamarg received fresh snowfall.

Reports said the higher reaches of Ganderbal, including Sonamarg, Nilghart, Baltal,  Zojila pass on Srinagar-Leh highway received fresh spell of light snowfall on Tuesday morning.

They said that following the snowfall, traffic on 434-km Srinagar Leh highway was temporarily suspended from both sides as precautionary measure.

Officials said that about 4 inches of snow has accumulated on the highway at Zojilla Pass.
