Srinagar: Clashes between government forces and civilian youths erupted in Bagh-e-Mehtab abd Mochwa area on the outskirts of Srinagar city on Monday even as the civic polls are going on.

Reports said that a group of protestors assembled near the railway bridge in Machuwa and pelted stones on government forces who were deployed near the bridge. However no injuries were reported.

They said that government forces responded by firing teargas shells.
