JAMMU: Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs have decided to re-activate Petrol Pump Joint Inspection Squads here at a meeting chaired by Director.

The meeting was attended by officers of major oil companies, traffic police, crime branch and legal Metrology officers.

According to the FCS&CA spokesperson, earlier, such squads were functioning but off-late, this activity had almost come to a standstill here.

The Director informed that the department has a prime responsibility in its capacity as a custodian of Consumer Rights and accordingly, an Action Plan was discussed and finalized relating to implementation of High Court directions regarding checking and inspection of Petrol Pumps for ensuring purity and stoppage of all kinds of adulteration in this sector, the spokesperson said.
