16 para commandos injured in Shopian road accident, 5 critical

Srinagar: 16 army men were injured after a vehicle overturned at Kanipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district late Friday night. 

Sources said that a private truck (Tata 207) ferrying army men of 23 PARA to Balpora base camp skidded off the road in Kanipora village, causing injuries to 16 soldiers.

All the injured soldiers were taken to nearby army’s medical facility where from five of them seriously wounded shifted to 92 base military hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar for specialized treatment.

A police officer while confirming the incident said that a case has been registered in this regard.
