I will cooperate with investigators during the course of investigations: Lawmaker Ajaz Mir

Srinagar: The Peoples Democratic Party legislator Ajaz Ahmad Mir on Wednesday said that he will cooperate with the investigators who will probe the “loot of weapons” that went missing from his official residence in Srinagar.

Mir, the PDP lawmaker from Wachi constituency in southern Kashmir’s Shopian district, also said that he will present himself before the investigators whenever they need him to investigate the “weapon loot”.

“I will be available for all sorts of questioning by the investigators and the police whenever required,” Mir said.

On September 28, a special police officer of Jammu and Kashmir police who was part of the security detail of Mir fled with 7 AK-47’s and personal pistol of Mir from his Jawahar Nagar residence.

Police later said that the SPO Adil Bashir had a contact with militants across the line of control.

Days after the heist, Bashir’s picture brandishing the weapons made rounds on social networking sites confirming that he had joined a militant outfit.
