Six months after’mysterious’ death of brother, missing girl’s body found in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal

Srinagar: A girl missing from her home in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district was found dead on Tuesday in a canal in which her brother had drowned earlier this year.Dead body was Tuesday found in the same canal  in which her brother’s dead body was found  Six Months earlier.

An official said the body of Wahida Akhtar, daughter of Mohd Alam Awan of Satrina area in Kangan was recovered in a power canal of Kangan Power house today at around 2 pm.

Wahida was missing from her home since last week September 26.

Pertinently body of Shakeel Ahmed Awan a PG student brother of the deceased girl was recovered from the same power canal six months ago in May this year after after his “mysterious” disappearance from his home.

The body of the deceased was handed over to her family for last rites after medico-legal formalities, said the official.

“We are investigating both the cases,” he added.
