Srinagar: Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on Kashmir highway near Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar on Monday after quarry holders blocked the road in protest against government’s ban on stone quarrying activities in Athwajan and Pantha Chowk.

The quarry holders under the banner of “United Quarry Association” demanded immediate revoke of the ban.

Eyewitnesses said that hundreds of vehicles were left stranded on the road between Pantha Chowk and Sonwar and Pantha Chowk stretch of the road.
