Jammu: The higher reaches of Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and Doda on Sunday received season’s first snowfall while the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was blocked due to landslide in Udhampur and Ramban districts.
The upper reaches of Jammu region including Bhaderwah, Doda, Kishtwar have received first snowfall of the season as the rainfall continues since Saturday.
People have expressed happiness and termed it good sign ahead of winter season.
Meanwhile, the temperature also dipped from normal ,due to snowfall and rains, in the plains.
The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway also remained suspended due to landslides.
“Landslide near Samroli in Udhampur and at Kheeri, Magarkoot and Ramsoo in Ramban have suspended the traffic,” said a police official.
According to him, Border Roads Organization(BRO) men are on job and the National Highway will soon be open and one way traffic will be restored.
