Indian Army honours soldiers disabled in line of duty in J&K

Jammu: Observing the ‘Year of Disabled Soldiers in Line of Duty’, the Army on Saturday honoured several jawans crippled in the line of duty in Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesperson said.

On the occasion, a tree plantation drive was conducted at Doda, he said.

The event was attended by disabled soldier and veteran along with serving soldiers, students and the locals of the area, spokesperson said, adding the aim was to connect with injured Army soldiers and acknowledge their service to the nation.

This tree plantation drive was led by an Army veteran who was disabled while serving at Siachen Glacier, he said.(PTI)
