In DGMO talks, India raises targeting of BSF personnel by Pakistan

New Delhi: Indian Army’s Director General of Military Operation (DGMO) Lt Gen Anil Chauhan has spoken to his Pakistani counterpart and lodged a stern protest against Ceasefire Violation (CFV) along the international border.

As per sources in the army establishment, “A functional level talk was held on Tuesday, where Indian DGMO raised the issue of Pakistani forces targeting Border Security Force personnel along the international boundary.”

On Tuesday, a BSF head constable was found dead with throat slit near the international boundary of Ramgarh sector in Jammu and Kashmir. The constable has been identified as Narendra Kumar.

Significantly, the incident took place a day Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated two smart fence projects as a part of the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) along the International Border in Jammu.

It will reduce dependence on the physical presence of BSF personnel along the border to some extent.
