Youth killed at Naseem Bagh was an active militant: Police, pistol, 2 magazines recovered

Srinagar: The slain youth who was killed by unidentified gunmen at Naseem Bagh in Hazratbal area of Kashmir’s capital city Srinagar has been identified as Asif Nazir Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Panzgam Awantipora.

A senior police officer said that Asif was an active militant and was affiliated with Zakir Musa group. He was active since January 2017.

Dar, according to police sources, was a former student of Islamic University of Science and technology at Awantipora.

Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail Parray earlier told a news gathering agency that two magazines and a pistol were recovered from the possession of Dar.

An ID card of IUST was also recovered from Dar’s possession according to which he was identified as Ishfaq Ahmad.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections.
