Srinagar: Unknown gunmen on Saturday shot and killed a student near Naseem Bagh behind Kashmir University in Hazratbal area of Srinagar city.

Sources said that the ID card of the slain was recovered from his pocket and he was identified as Ishfaq Ahmad, a second-semester student of Islamic University of Science and Technology.

No police official was reachable over phone to confirm the incident. However, sources said that police has reached the spot and have cordoned the area to nab the gunmen.
