Srinagar: Former Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday visited the family of the slain Uri girl who was raped and brutally murdered by her step brother and his friends last week.

Police said that the rape and murder of the girl was conspired by her step mother.

The PDP president was accompanied by his colleague and former education minister Altaf Bukhari.

The girl, who was missing since 2 September, was found dead with her eyes gouged out and acid thrown on her private parts, in the forest area situated a kilometre away from her house.
