2 weeks after his release from jail, Hurriyat (G) activist killed in Sopore

Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen Saturday shot dead a Hurriyat Conference (Geelani) activist in Bomai village of Sopore.

The slain was identified as Hakim-ur-Rehman Sultani, 45-years-old, son of late Mufti Nizamuddin Sultani, a resident of Reshipora Bomai.

Sources said that after being shot, the slain was rushed to District Hospital Sopore where doctors declared him brought dead.

Pertinently, Hakim was released from incarceration only two weeks before after he was imprisoned under Public Safety Act (PSA) for his “pro-freedom” activities.
