Srinagar: An elderly man was on Thursday morning killed while three other pedestrians suffered injuries after a School bus hit them at Doniwari village in Lolab area of Kupwara district.

Witnesses said that the driver of the school bus bearing registration number JK09 -9261 and belonging to Shah Anwar Memorial Trust Khumriyal, lost control of the speeding bus and hit the pedestrians, injuring four people, one of them critically.

The injured were rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared one of them brought dead.

The deceased was identified as Syed Quratullah Andrabi, 72, son of Syed Shah Andrabi, a resident of Doniwari Lolab, while the injured are being served treatment.

A police official told The Kashmir Press that they have seized the vehicle and taken up the investigations. He said that a manhunt has also been launched to nab the driver who fled from the spot.
