Army shoots dead a man at LoC in Rajouri, claims ‘he was trying to infiltrate’

Jammu: The army on Wednesday morning shot dead a man claiming that he was trying to infiltrate into this side of the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports said that the army opened fire after noticing the movement of two persons in Kass area near Veer Badreshwar temple.

Colonel Rajesh Kalia, the Srinagar based Defence Spokesperson did not respond to calls from The Kashmir Press.

While one of the two persons was shot dead, the other has managed to escape to the other side of the LoC, reports said.

The local police have taken over the custody of the dead body and the identity of the slain is being ascertained.

A police official of the district told The Kashmir Press that they (police) have taken the body. “We are ascertaining his identity,” he said.
