Srinagar: The police has arrested the father of known Hizb ul Mujahideen militant commander, Riyaz Naikoo, during a raid at their residence in south Kashmir.

Locals said Assadullah Naikoo, father of HM commander was then removed from his residence at Beighpora Awantipora by the police to the local police station.

When contacted, the police said Assadullah was detained for questioning.
