Srinagar: Army Lt Gen Ata Hasnain(retd) has been named chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir.

The decision comes days after G Parthasarathy’s appointment as chancellor if of the Central University of Jammu, economic times reported.

President Ram Nath Kovind has cleared the appointments.

Parthasarathy will succeed J&K governor NN Vohra as chancellor to the varsity, and  Hasnain replaces founding chancellor and renowned nuclear scientist Srikumar Banerjee.
