Missing Budgam boy found dead in Yousmarg

Srinagar: A body was recovered on Tuesday from Yousmarg Dam, in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, sources said.

The deceased has been identified as Sameer Ahmad Dar (22), a resident of Watkulu, Chrar-e-Sharief in Budgam district.

Sameer according to family sources was a student of 12th class and was missing since June 27.

According to the family sources of the deceased they had filed a missing report in concerned police station but the police argued that he might have joined militant ranks.

The family of the deceased alleged police of negligence in the case adding, “it is a murder.”

The body had burn marks, family sources said.

Meanwhile police spokesperson said that today in the morning police received information about a dead body seen floating in Yousmarg Dam.

Immediately police swung into action and reached the spot where with help of locals and after lot of efforts the dead body was fished out.

He was missing from home since 24th june 2018 and his father lodged a missing report on 27 th june 2018.

“Efforts were being made to trace the missing boy,” it said adding “police has initiated the legal action and matter is being investigated”.
