Srinagar: Floral tributes were paid on Friday to  slain constable of Jammu and Kashmir police, who was kidnapped and later killed by militants in south Kashmir.

Meanwhile, large number of people joined the “Nimaz Jinazah” of slain constable at his ancestral village.

Constable Javid Ahmad Dar was kidnapped by four militants near his house at village Vehil in Shopian when he had gone to purchase medicine from a medical shop last night.

However, his bullet riddled body was recovered from Barwan, Kulgam, 7 km from his home town early Friday morning. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility of the killing of 27-year-old constable.

Senior civil and police, Army and paramilitary force personnel paid tributes to constable at wreath laying ceremony held at District Police Lines (DPL), Shopian.

This was the third abduction in Shopian during the past about a month.
