Srinagar: Friday prayers were not allowed at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar Friday as authorities had imposed strict restrictions in the area.

Earlier in the day government  forces had closed all the roads leading to the Masjid and nobody was allowed to reach the worship place.

All the shops and business establishments in Nowhatta and adjoining areas remained closed following the restrictions.
