Home Minister arrives on 2-day visit to J&K

SRINAGAR: Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, along with a high-level delegation of government officials, arrived here this evening on a two-day visit to Jammu & Kashmir to review the security situation in the State.

This is the first time that home minister will visit the state after the PDP-BJP government fell apart.

Rajnath was received at the technical airport here by Advisors to the Governor, B B Vyas, K Vijay Kumar and Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Director General of Police Dr S P Vaid, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr Sehrish Asgar and senior officers of the paramilitary forces.

He  is accompanied by National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, Home Secretary, Rajiv Gauba, Joint Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, Gyanesh Kumar and other officers of the MHA.
