Lightning kills four, injures 15 in Bihar

Aurangabad: Four people were killed and more than 15 others  injured on Sunday when lightning struck them on the bank of punpun river under Obra police station area in the district today.

District Magistrate Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal said here that lightning struck a group  of people who had reached on the bank of Punpun river for cremation of a  person, killing four of them on the spot while more than 15 others sustained burn injuries in the incident.

All the injured had been admitted to a local hospital, he  added.   “Bodies had been sent for postmortem”, Mr Mahiwal said, adding that family   members of the deceased would be given Rs 4 lakhs each by the state government as per norms. (UNI)
