Srinagar:  Clashes erupted between government forces and youth near encounter site at Chatapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, reports said

Reports said that protesters pelted government forces with rocks and tried to disrupt their operation against the holed up militants in Pulwama on Friday.

Earlier a gunfight between militants and government forces broke out in the main town Chatapora where two to three militants are believed to be trapped .

Local sources said that soon after the start of the gunfight the protesters started marching towards the gunfight site pelting stones on forces.

The government forces fired tear smoke shells and fired many shots in air to disperse the protesters.

Orders to suspend mobile internet in Pulwama district have been issued
